Construction claims management for professionals is a practical, professional-level training course designed for construction professionals to develop the knowledge and skills required to identify, prepare, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims arising from construction projects. The training course focuses on the contractual, technical, financial, and documentary aspects of construction claims. Participants will learn how to recognize potential claims early, establish contractual entitlement, collect and analyze supporting evidence, quantify time and cost impacts, prepare professional claim submissions, and effectively respond to claims. Particular emphasis is placed on delay claims, disruption, variations, extension of time, payment disputes, acceleration, differing site conditions, and other common construction claims. In this training course two interrelated issues are addressed: viz., concept of construction claims and factors leading to construction claims. Construction claim is event driven, which may lead to some contractual and/or legal consequences. The consequences of construction claims are mostly resulting time and/or financial claim for the specific contracting party under the construction contract. Factors leading to construction claims, as identified, are multifold. In this training course, participants are able to define and understand the concept of construction claim and identify and explore factors leading to construction claims.
